About GIEC

The Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Centre (GIEC) in Kenya is established under the ITU Acceleration Centres (IAC) Programme as a global centre. The centre aims to drive digital transformation through a unique ecosystem-thinking approach, enhancing capabilities to boost innovation, entrepreneurship, and the digitalisation of economies.

Hosted by the Communications Authority of Kenya (CA), the Centre plays a pivotal role in supporting Kenya's digital transformational agenda and collaboration with partnering ITU member states. The Centre’s focus on transitioning Kenya to innovation-driven digital economies translates to accelerating progress in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As part of a dynamic network connecting national, regional, and global ITU Acceleration Centres, it collaborates with a broad spectrum of stakeholders in the ICT-centric ecosystem to cultivate an environment that fosters digital transformation.
