The GIEC will participate in the ITU-Acceleration Centre Design Co-creation Virtual Workshop, running from 29 April 2024 to 31 May 2024.
In pursuit of a suitable design, the GIEC participated in a Co-creation Workshop that involved a series of activities aimed at designing the Center and its services. This design process is a critical phase in conceptualising and customising the Centre to best fit its context, objectives, and goals. The design process will ascertain the vision, mission, service requirements, human resources and capacity-building needs, resource mobilisation requirements, partnership needs, strategic communication requirements, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, and governance structure.
The design process, which is underway, is expected to deliver the following outcomes:
- To co-create a customised blueprint for each Centre based on ITU's comprehensive design approach. This blueprint is expected to have at least 2 components, namely, a comprehensive set of Centre design specifications, codified in a Design Document, and financial and other resource implications, along with key deliverables codified in the Activity Document
- To establish and agree upon key milestones for the launch and operationalisation of each Centre and
- To implement a capacity-building plan to support the launch of the initial services.
