The GIEC Participates in the Inaugural Meeting of the Digital Innovation Board of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance for Digital Development from March 19 to 20, 2024.

The Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Information Communications and the Digital Economy (MICDE), Mr. Eliud Owalo, was appointed to the Digital Innovations Board of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance for Digital Development, under which the ITU Acceleration centres programme has been established. The Board is charged with various responsibilities including:

(a)       Global advocacy.
(b)      Alignment of the Alliance strategy with international and regional development goals.
(c)       Facilitation of high-level coordination of efforts deployed across the Network of Acceleration Centres and the Digital Transformation Lab.
(d)      Ensuring impactful delivery of the Alliance strategy as the governance mechanism of the Network of ITU Acceleration Centres.

The board meeting took place from March 19 to 20, 2024, in Geneva, Switzerland. At this meeting, representatives of each Acceleration centre, including the GIEC, met the Board and provided briefings on the respective centre’s plans.
